About this collaboration
How They Use KYVE
As Web3 grows, it's becoming harder and harder for nodes to hold onto the entire historical state of a blockchain. And with a major decrease in incentivization for keeping full nodes around, sourcing historical chain data is becoming more and more of an issue in node runners' and developers' day-to-day lives.Moonbeam is leveraging KYVE's data lake to archive its entire blockchain state, avoiding this issue altogether by preserving its historical data and keeping streamlined access to it open for all. Archiving historical data is one of KYVE's main use cases, and in this situation, the data validated via KYVE is stored onto Arweave, a permanent data storage solution.Currently, Moonbeam's pool is archiving and validating Moonbeam Alpha, their testnet, allowing all who are building on testnet to be able to easily interact with the data and stay up to date. To keep the pool running, funding is required from those who need constant access to this data in order to incentivize the validators in the pool to behave correctly when uploading and validating the data.Via KYVE's data lake, node runners can easily and quickly access Moonbeam Alpha's entire chain state, locating the exact data they need in order to continue their missions within the network. This also applies to builders on their testnet who rely on any previous transactions that took place in order to keep their project running, overall increasing the scalability and reliability of their work. For KYVE, bringing on this data set expands our data lake's potential and brings on more work and incentivization for our network participants.
