“2024 was a heads-down year for KYVE, focused on building, refining, and laying the groundwork for what’s to come. With everything we’ve accomplished, we’re now ready to go all out in 2025 and take KYVE’s impact to the next level.” – Fabian Riewe, Founder of KYVE.
Looking back at 2024, KYVE took its mission to the next level, expanding its capabilities and spreading data support across ecosystems worldwide. From groundbreaking innovations to growing strategic partnerships, KYVE solidified its role as a leader in blockchain infrastructure.
This year’s achievements set the stage for an even stronger 2025, where KYVE’s impact on the data space will reach new heights... Read on to explore the milestones that defined KYVE in 2024 and get ready for what’s ahead!
This year, KYVE released the v1.5 upgrade, which enabled multi-coin funding on the protocol. From the start, the center of KYVE’s protocol economics was $KYVE. Now, integrations can be funded in any token, and by delegating $KYVE, users can receive both $KYVE and other tokens in return for securing the network.
Building on this, KYVE introduced the Public Goods Funding (PGF) initiative, in which KYVE runs a public good node on a partner chain, leveraging the generated rewards from that node to fund that chain’s integration on KYVE.
Thanks to all this, KYVE is now entering an exciting new phase, fueling seamless data support for new ecosystems and their communities while expanding KYVE’s own network capabilities. These efforts have not only brought exciting additions to the protocol economics but also a huge opportunity for closer partner collaborations and end-user opportunities.

KYVE has archived and validated all of the following chains’ full blockchain data history, including blocks, block results, and state-sync snapshots:
- Cosmos Hub
- Osmosis
- Cronos
- Archway
- Axelar
- Celestia
- Noble blocks
- dYdX
- SOURCE Protocol
- Andromeda
- Ethereum (only blobs on Kaon)
- Lava Network (on Kaon)
- ZetaChain (on Kaon)
- KYVE & Kaon (on Kaon)
This ensures a permanent, reliable backup of all these chains, making any piece of data easily accessible via KYVE’s streamlined data tooling or REST-API. Overall, enabling developers and nodes to avoid costly and slow archival nodes or other unreliable resources.
KYVE’s long-standing partnerships have sparked new community collaborations, such as dev workshops with dYdX and X Spaces with partners like Andromeda and Lava.
On top of this, KYVE has expanded its solutions to new chains and brought forward collaborations with other ecosystems:
“We’re delighted to support KYVE, a project with similar aspirations as Lava — to make blockchains accessible and easy to build on. Node operators are fundamental to web3 — they can now find opportunities in both KYVE and Lava ecosystems. — Yair Cleper, Co-Founder at Lava Network.
Throughout 2024, KYVE and its network consistently proved to be a highly active chain and protocol, averaging 200,000 transactions per day and securing its place as one of the most active chains in the Cosmos ecosystem. As a result, over 7 TB of compressed, diverse historical blockchain data became permanently and reliably accessible to all.
This year was definitely a period of growth and enhancement for KYVE, with new upgrades, tooling, and unique multi-network collaborations. Let’s get into the main tech highlights…
With the implementation of EIP-4844, Ethereum and its Layer 2s have begun pruning historical data, making it essential to use a decentralized solution like KYVE to permanently store and retrieve this data before it all starts getting deleted or relying on centralized, costly resources.
KYVE has also taken on the role of preserving Celestia’s historical data, advancing scalability and reliable historical data for all amidst Celestia also pruning its historical data. This is just the first step, with KYVE aiming to not only support Celestia, but all rollups built on top. Read further into this modular support case study.
Certain updates have been made throughout the year, starting with Supervysor v2, to ensure a smooth and positive validator experience on the KYVE protocol.
KYVE’s tool Supervysor ensures validators' nodes are in sync with a chain’s data pool and eliminates any data that's already been archived to lower storage needs, drastically cutting down on the expenses tied to validator operations. V2 introduced state pruning, fully optimizing the pruning mechanism as a whole and ensuring that protocol validators don’t have to deal with any extra data.
Plus, from November 1st to the 14th, dedicated KYVE beta testers tested integrating Ar.io’s Turbo integration on the KYVE protocol. The goal was to simplify node operations and enhance the data storage experience for protocol validators. This phase was deemed a success, and Turbo has now been officially integrated on mainnet as the new storage provider.
“What is really amazing is that you spend less than a minute to fund the storage wallet in comparison to AR. Overall, it takes about 15 minutes.” – Liver, node runner on KYVE about the Beta Test on Turbo.
It’s known across the industry that it’s extremely difficult and resource-intensive to source reliable historical data, until now! Thanks to KYVE’s trustless API. This tool enables all to leverage KYVE trustless data, merkle roots for integrity, minimize data loads, and ensure lightning-speed access, all via one unique tool. Already supporting Celestia, Ethereum, and Osmosis. Try it out yourself!
KSYNC has also seen advancements, acquiring more daily users and supporting more chain datasets made trustless by KYVE. It was recently calculated that KSYNC has so far saved node operators 66 days of chain syncing time.
To further spread awareness and understanding of the tool, KYVE published an in-depth KSYNC article, as well as an X Space with the Osmosis Support Team, Lavender Five, and Crosnest to chat about how KYVE and KSYNC significantly impact their daily operations. Key takeaways:
“It’s becoming more of an issue with these chains becoming more mature. […] You just can’t find that data anywhere [...] From the sounds of it, I can cover anything I couldn’t have done before by using KYVE and its tools.” – Max Power, Contributor to Osmosis Support Labs
“Whenever a client of ours needs an archival node or a specific period of data, it’s a lot easier to refer them to KYVE […] Running an archival node, you cannot have a window in the past, you need it to be live and running. But using KYVE, you can literally have that window in the past without any issues.” – Ertemann, Chief of Staff at Lavender Five.
With KYVE focused on providing a decentralized-driven ecosystem, community is at the heart of it all. This year, the KYVE community has gone all out in support of KYVE’s advancements, helping test new features, providing insightful feedback, and overall helping spread the word about KYVE’s importance in the Web3 space.
