Boston, MA — October 07, 2021 —, the Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform on Polkadot, announced an integration with KYVE Network, a decentralized archiving and caching solution that enables modern blockchains and dApps to store and serve data reliably. Moonbeam’s integration with KYVE on the Moonbase Alpha network is now completed and Moonriver’s deployment is next. This integration will allow Moonbeam’s fast-growing community of developers to easily store their data permanently on Arweave, enabling higher scalability.
Developers on Moonriver and Moonbeam (once launched) will be able to utilize KYVE’s data storage solution to access reliable, verified, and permanent data. KYVE’s decentralized archival framework standardizes, validates, and permanently stores any generated data stream. By leveraging, the solution ensures the scalability, immutability, and availability of these resources over time. The Arweave storage platform backs data with sustainable and perpetual endowments.
“Working with the Moonbeam team has been an incredible opportunity. At KYVE, we firmly believe in the future of cross-chain interoperability. Moonbeam, by its technology, is defining the future of the blockchain industry. We hope that the developer community within Moonbeam will use our solution to store and verify their data streams in a very efficient and reliable way,” said Fabian Riewe, CEO of KYVE.
This integration gives the KYVE team access to Moonbeam’s strong portfolio of70+ projects building on itand a broad community of developers. Moonbeam was a natural fit for the KYVE team to deliver the scalability and market potential they needed. KYVE recently changed its architecture and migrated from SmartWeave to Moonbeam to utilize Moonbeam’s EVM capabilities.
“Historically, Web3 devs have developed for and deployed to a single blockchain, which means they have had to live with the strengths and weaknesses of that chain,” says Derek Yoo, Moonbeam Founder. “Web3 applications of the future will be multi-chain and leverage the specialized strengths of multiple underlying blockchains. The KYVE protocol’s combination of Arweave’s permanent data storage with Moonbeam’s Ethereum compatibility and interoperability is exactly this kind of solution. We are very excited to support the KYVE team in making decentralized data storage available to developers on the Moonbeam platform.”
KYVE’s integration on Moonbase Alpha, Moonbeam’s TestNet, is deployed and live. Moonriver will be deployed in the upcoming weeks, and Moonbeam will follow once the network is live. The Moonriver pool isavailable here.
About the Moonbeam Network
Moonbeam is an Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform on the Polkadot network that makes it easy to build natively interoperable applications. This Ethereum compatibility allows developers to deploy existing Solidity smart contracts and DApp frontends to Moonbeam with minimal changes. As a parachain on the Polkadot network, Moonbeam will benefit from the shared security of the Polkadot relay chain and integrations with other chains that are connected to Polkadot. Currently in active development by PureStake, Moonbeam is expected to reach MainNet by Q4 2021. Learn more:https://moonbeam.network/.
