In an effort to include KYVE’s community in its technological advancements, the KYVE Beta Testers Program was approved by governance and launched at the end of 2023. The first phase was successfully completed, having tested a now very popular KYVE feature: state-sync.
Now, the second official Beta Testing Phase is open for applicants, dedicated to testing the new storage provider “Turbo” developed by the ArDrive team serving the ar.io network. This two-week testing period will enable Beta Tester protocol validators the option to pay in $KYVE for permanent storage on Arweave instead of just $AR. This has been a highly requested feature for protocol validators and makes operation and funds management much easier.
This phase is part of the KYVE <> Turbo release and serves to conduct thorough testing, ensuring a robust and streamlined mainnet deployment.
Testing will take place on KYVE’s testnet network, Kaon (`kaon-1`), and will consist of successfully running a protocol validator and uploading the bundles with the new Turbo storage provider. For this, only the Archway block data pool and the Archway state-sync data pool will be used. The following actions are explicitly covered by this phase:
The Reward will be split amongst all Beta Tester participants according to their activity based on the full discretion of the KYVE Foundation:
Please Note: Both reward payouts and reimbursements depend on the completion of a successful KYC process. The Beta Testing Phase #2 works in line with the terms and conditions of the network.
Everyone already accepted into the beta testing program, subject to successful KYC verification and agreement to the KYVE terms and conditions, is invited to register for this phase and was notified yesterday (Oct. 24th) on KYVE’s Beta Testers Discord channel for early registration.

➡️ If you are not already a KYVE Beta Tester and want to take part in helping advance KYVE forward, please apply through this form.
Selection will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, with 10 spots available for this two-week testing phase.

The KYVE Beta Testers Phase 2 was completed on November 14th 2024, successfully proving the Turbo integration’s effectiveness in significantly improving the storage experience for KYVE protocol validators. It offered valuable insights for optimizing the integration further and supported Beta Testers in seamlessly migrating to this new storage provider. The lessons learned from Phase 2 will help prepare all protocol validators for a smooth transition to this enhanced storage process.
Overall testing feedback: Less time & less effort...
“What is really amazing is that you spend less than a minute to fund the storage wallet in comparison to AR, where we need to send KYVE, sell it, push the price down, buy AR, push the price up, return it, and then only fund. Overall, it takes about 15 minutes.” – Liver, node runner on KYVE.
We thank the ArDrive team serving the ar.io network for their support in preparing the Turbo integration for this Beta Testing phase. And, of course, a big thank you to all the testers who took part! Your help was crucial to this exciting advancement for KYVE. Rewards have been successfully distributed to the active Beta Testers in this phase, following the rewards guidelines shared.
This is just the start, there will be much more to test out… stay tuned for the next Beta Testing phases!
